A statement from Mike Kramer, HealthWyse CEO


 

“HealthWyse was founded in 1998 with a mission to provide unique information services and solutions to the home health industry.

Our products and services have been designed to address the everyday challenges that you face in managing your home health, hospice or private duty agency”

 

 

Overview

 

HealthWyse provides an integrated Clinical and Financial information system to Home Health, Hospice and Private Duty agencies.  The HealthWyse solution is delivered through a hosted data center, with end to end managed services.  The HealthWyse Survivability Architecture is designed to minimize the need for onsite, agency based Information Technology resources, and allows our clients to focus their resources on their core mission; taking care of patients.


In 2004, the HealthWyse solution was selected by Visiting Nurse Associations of America (VNAA) as the preferred Point of Care solution for member agencies.

 

In 2006, HealthWyse  was awarded the prestigious ComputerWorld Laureate Award in the category of Mobile Healthcare solutions

 

HealthWyse is headquartered in Wilmington, MA and serves clients in all four US time zones.

 

Management Profiles


Michael R. Kramer, Ph.D., P.E.
, CEO – Dr. Kramer, co-founder of HealthWyse, has over 20 years experience in the medical products industry. Prior to founding HealthWyse, Dr. Kramer was President of Teledyne-NIM, a medical products company. He spent 19 years with Hewlett-Packard’s Medical Products Group in a number of senior management positions. Dr. Kramer, as General Manager, was responsible for starting the Clinical Information Systems business unit within Hewlett-Packard and for a number of years was responsible for research and development operations for Hewlett-Packard’s patient monitoring business unit. Dr. Kramer holds a BSEE from the University of Dayton and an MS and a Ph.D. from Ohio State in Electrical Engineering with a major in Biomedical Engineering.
Andrew S. Braunstein MSEE, CTO – Mr. Braunstein, co-founder of HealthWyse, has been a professional in the software industry since 1985, and has focused on the field of clinical information systems. Prior to undertaking the challenges at HealthWyse, Mr. Braunstein was Director of Applications Development at Vectis Corporation, a developer of wireless clinical systems for the physician outpatient market. In his nine years with Hewlett-Packard’s Medical Products Group, he was an architect for Hewlett-Packard’s Clinical Information Systems product line. He also did pioneering work in developing HP’s 100LX handheld for clinical applications. He was awarded a patent in communication of medical information among disconnected users and has a second patent pending. Mr. Braunstein is a graduate of MIT, where he received three degrees. He has Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from MIT’s Computer Science Department and a degree from MIT’s Sloan School of Management with a specialty in Management Information Systems.
Karyn P. Grant, Executive Vice President – Prior to joining HealthWyse, Ms. Grant was Vice President, Sales and Marketing for Illuminis, Inc, an early stage company targeted at providing internet multimedia service for the health care market. For over 14 years she held sales and marketing management positions with Hewlett-Packard’s Medical Products Group and received numerous awards; including the President’s Club Award for performance in the Top 1% of the worldwide HP sales force. Ms. Grant holds a patent in telemedicine for the collection of patient vital signs from the patient home and transmission to healthcare providers at a central system. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Nursing from the University of Virginia.
Steven H. Booth, MBA, Vice President of Sales  - Prior to joining Healthwyse, Mr. Booth was the Regional Sales Director for Navisite, an Andover, MA-based firm providing managed hosting services for mid to large-size enterprises. For over 18 years, he held various sales and sales management positions with Hewlett-Packard Company with the medical products, computer systems and software businesses. Prior to HP, he served as an administrator for Massachusetts General Hospital’s ambulatory care division. He holds an MBA in Healthcare Management from Boston University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from Cornell University.
